I do not like to talk about the flights I take when I travel, hence to post this required overcoming my usual reluctance. However, I believe in singing the praises when it is deserved, and I break with tradition to speak of my experience on board CX 255 from Hong Kong to London.
Even though I worked as Food Consultant for Cathay Pacific for one year, I am a firm BA supporter ever since the days when BA was BOAC in the 1960s and I travelled back and forth from school in the UK.
So this time, I requested my travel agent (Farrington Travel) Mr. David Lau to put me on BA flights for my trip to London. 'Oh No, Annie', he said,'I want you to experience CX and I promise you, this trip will take your prejudice away because the standard has much changed and you will like the new seats.' 'Why, David,' I said 'I have no problem with the seats, in fact I love those seats. It is the other things I have an issue with.!'
I was thus a most reluctant passenger on board CX255 which departed HK at the wee hour of 1 am, but David was right, it was the most pleasant long haul trip I have had for a long time.
